Sir Terry Wogan has died aged 77. The veteran broadcasterpassed away after a battle with cancer, it has been announced. His familyissued a statement, announcing the sad news. It read: "Sir Terry Wogandied today after a short but brave battle with cancer.
"He passed away surrounded by his family. While weunderstand he will be missed by many, the family ask that their privacy isrespected at this time."
Born in Limerick, Sir Terry's 50-year career on radio,television saw him become one of the world’s most treasured broadcasters.
