The Bollywood star was furious at a passenger who was watching a pirate version of her latest film
Bollywood star Kriti Sanon starred in Dilwale, which was released in Indian cinemas 10 days ago.

While on a flight to Delhi with her mother, the 25-year-old noticed that the passenger next to her was watching an illegal copy of her latest film on his iPhone.

In spite of Ms Sanon admonishing the man, who has not been identified, he allegedly refused to stop playing the film.
Ms Sanon said: ”Told him politely tht he would enjoy the film more in a theatre.but he was busy showin off his projector!”

Dilwale was shot in a number of locations, including Iceland, Bulgaria, and different places in India. It cost £10 million to make and raked in £15 million worldwide on opening weekend.

Expressing her anger to her 420,000 Twitter followers, Ms Sanon said: “Sad to c the handwork of so many ppl being watched in such pathetic quality! Pls enjoy films in cinemas #SayNoToPriracy.”

Even with the rise of subscription video on demand services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime, the number of illegal downloads worldwide shows no signs of slowing down.

Mark Mulligan of Midia Research told the BBC in December that such services are "still in their infancy, and only have a slice of the content available."

According to Expicio, an IT company specialised in detecting copyright infringements on the internet, India is only behind China, Russia and Brazil, on the list of countries responsible for the most illegal downloads.
