Remember a resident doctor at the Obafemi AwolowoUniversity Teaching Hospital who died after vomiting blood on Monday night,which made a lot of nurses, his collegues evacuate the hospital for fear of Lassafever? Well a test carried out has now showed the doctor actually died of thevirus.
It will be recalled that the chairman of a committee set upby the OAUTHC on Lassa fever, Prof. Adedeji Onayade, had said it was too earlyto conclude the doctor died of Lassa fever, but tests have now proved it. Mayhis soul rest in peace. May God fight this Lassa fever..
