Weird : Man Tapes 14 Bottles Of Alcohol To His Body In An Attempt To Smuggle Them Into Saudi Arabia (Photos)

This smuggler was caught trying to sneak 14 bottles ofliquor in his underwear into Saudi Arabia, according to official Saudi PressAgency (SPA).

The Saudi man was stopped at customs on his way back fromthe island kingdom of Bahrain on the 16-mile-long King Fahd Causeway linkingthe two Gulf countries, according to head of customs Fahad Dhufallah al-Otaibi.

After a search, inspectors detected the bottles of boozewhich were attached with adhesive tapes to the man's upper and lower legs andhidden by the man’s traditional long white robe.



Customs officials became suspicious of the man afternoticing he was walking oddly as he re-entered the Saudi Arabia from Bahrain.

Alcohol is illegal in Saudi Arabia and as a result there aretough penalties such as public flogging or long detention for anyone caughttrying to break the law.

Last week, Saudi customs seized two shipments of liquor fromBahrain, including 415 bottles concealed in various parts of a vehicle and 83lof liquor hidden inside the fuel tank reserve of a truck.

In October, a British man was caught with homemade wine andfaced public lashing.

Karl Andree, 74, was arrested by Saudi religious police andspent more than a year in prison. He was spared flogging because of his age andill-health.

We don’t know what will befall the man now.
