Paedophile's and their Misfortunes, Parents Beware
The police at the Adeniji Adele Division, Lagos Island, havearrested a 51-year old casket maker for having carnal knowledge of an 8-yearold girl. The alleged offence was committed by Kayode Michael at OdulamiStreet, Lagos Island, while the girl was returning from school.
Police alleged that the suspect was arrested following acomplaint by the mother of the victim, a primary 3 pupil that her daughter toldher that the suspect, Michael, who is their co-tenant waylaid her on her wayfrom school, lured her to an alley along the street in the area and forcifullyhad sex with her.
She said that her daughter was rescued by residents in thearea who heard her shouting for help with blood gushing out from her privatepart.
She further told the police that she rushed her daughter toa hospital where doctors confirmed that her daughter had been deflowered by thesuspect who also inflicted severe injury on her private part.
During investigation, the suspect allegedly confessed to thecrime that the devil pushed him to commit the crime. He promised not to commitsuch crime again if the could set him free.
After investigation, the suspect, a resident of 42, OdulamiStreet, Lagos Island, was arraigned before an Igbosere magistrates’ court on atwo-count charge of felony to wit, unlawful and indecent sexual assault on aneight-year old girl.
The accused however pleaded not guilty to the alleged crimein the open court, and Magistrate Mrs O. A. Ogunbowale admitted the accused tobail in the sum of N1 million with two sureties in like sum, one of whom mustowned a property on Lagos Island.
She adjourned the case to 12 May, 2016 for mention, whilethe defendant was taken to Ikoyi prison pending when he will fulfil his bailconditions.
