A Niger Delta youth leader, Comrade Sheriff Mulade, has alleged that what caused militancy in the Niger Delta is gradually resurfacing under the current administration.
He cautioned President Muhammadu Buhari to thread carefully on issues regarding ex-militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo.
He claimed the alleged persecution of Tompolo was generating ill-feelings and provocation in the region and could lead to the emergence of more dangerous militants in the region.
"Government should not create loopholes for more dangerous militants suppressed by Tompolo’s presence from taking advantage of his issue with the government to cause more havoc in the region.”
He said Tompolo has many loyalists in the region who are ready to resort to violence and destruction of oil installations because of the issue he is having with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
