Local News : Libya Deports 241 Nigerians, Including Children



The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has saidthat at least 241 Nigerians have been deported from Libya.  NEMA’s spokesperson, Ibrahim Farinloye saidthe 241 Nigerians were repatriated on Tuesday from Libya and landed at theMurtala Muhammed International Airport at about 3:41pm.



“The International Organisation for Migration (IOM)facilitated the repatriation of the 241 returnees from Libya today. Thebreakdown indicates that 67 female and 174 male were repatriated,” he said.


According to Farinloye, three of the returnees werereceiving treatment s at LASUTH,
“NEMA received the returnees at the MMI Airport, Lagos and gave refreshment andfacilitated their transportation to their respective states of origins or theirplaces of destinations with transport fares.


“The returnees are some of the stranded Nigerians trying tolook for green pasture in foreign land through Libya. The Director, Relief andRehabilitation, Alhaji Bafale Sambo received the returnees on behalf of theDirector General of NEMA. The returnees arrived the MMI Airport at 3:45pmtoday,” he stated.
