Miss Philippines wins Miss Universe pageant

Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach is crowned Miss Universe after winning the
2015 Miss Universe Pageant held at the Planet Hollywood hotel on Sunday (December 21) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

First runner-up was given to Miss Columbia Ariadna Gutierrez with Miss USA Olivia Jordan coming in third. Presenter Steve Harvey accidentally revealed Adriadna as the winner initially until he corrected his own mistake on live television.

This year, the pageant moved forward without Donald Trump due to his racy comments made a few months earlier during his presidential campaign run.
